(SI) Namen pričujočega predloga projekta je podpreti sodelovanje med nosilnim raziskovalcem (PI) in Georgyem Sharyginom. Predlagano delo povezuje kombinatoriko in topologijo mnogoterosti. _Topološki prostor_ je objekt, ki ima obliko, ne pa tudi razdalje. Predlog projekta želi graditi na področjih, na katerih je sodelovanje PI in Sharygina naravno. Ker Državna univerza v Moskvi in Univerza na Primorskem nudita skupen program, je sodelovanje na raziskovalnem nivoju in druga integracija naravna in zaželjena. 
(EN) The proposal is to support collaboration between the PI and Georgy Sharygin. The proposed work connects combinatorics with the topology of manifolds. A _topological space_ is an object that has a shape, but no distance. It is famously repeated that to a topologist, a coffee cup is the same as a solid tube, since if one has no distance, then the “cup” part of the coffee cup might as well be flat, leaving only the handle. (Both, however, have a different shape from a ball.) The proposed work would look for connections between these fields. One possible form of the collaboration would be to examine specific classes of spaces, and look for characteristic classes representing homology cycles.
